CANDLELIT VIGIL FOR THOSE AFFECTED BY GOVERNMENT FUNDING CUTS

Members of Lancaster and Morecambe Against the Cuts, in partnership with local charities and faith groups, are planning a candlelit vigil in solidarity with those who will be most affected by cuts to care.

• Time – Tuesday 1st March, 6pm - 6.30pm
• Place to gather –Dalton Square, Lancaster
• No ‘speeches’ and no march – just a few minutes silence to consider the real implications of the cuts, then we’ll stand on the side of Dalton Square visible to the road with a banner that reads something like "Cuts to care are killing me, honk if you agree."

Please advertise this event as you feel able, and come and join us if you can.

The Talented!

Posters and flyers are now available for ‘The Talented’ – West End Impact’s latest exciting fund raising venture! Those of you who were at our last Forum meeting will remember Michl telling us about the vision they have to transform the barn adjacent to their current premises for community use. Supporting ‘The Talented’ will help them to move that vision forward – as well as being a tremendous opportunity for fun and engagement with our community.

'The Talented' is Morecambe's very own Talent show, sponsored and hosted by Morecambe Football Club at the Globe Arena. It's a chance to perform on a professional stage, with cash prizes:

· 1st prize £150 and Interview with Diversity Radio

· 2nd prize:£75

· 3rd Prize £50

The closing date for applications is 6th March, and auditions will take place on the 13th and 17th March. The live Semi Finals will be on 10th & 11th April at 7:30pm, with the Grand Final on Tuesday 12th April at 7:30pm. Groups or individuals are all welcome to take part.
Judges include Jim Bentley, Captain of Morecambe Football Club, and Diversity FM Radio are also supporting the event.

Please do advertise in your churches and around the community. West End Impact would be delighted to supply you with posters and flyers – contact them on 01524 888929 , or info@thetalented.co.uk. To download an application form, go to www.thetalented.co.uk
